Meet Savanah Miller, CHW/Recovery Coach (RC) and Recovery Support Manager at North Country Health Consortium in Littleton, NH. Savanah was also newly appointed North Vice Chair of the NH CHW Coalition in the beginning of 2024.

Savanah’s journey into becoming a RC/CHW is deeply personal. After finding recovery herself, she felt called to help others in their own paths to healing. Her lived experience became a powerful tool for positive change in her community.

As a CHW/RC, Savanah’s days are as diverse as the needs she serves. From distributing life-saving materials to providing community education, she goes wherever she is needed most.

For Savanah, the most rewarding aspect of her work is simple yet profound: being part of the solution. Her advice to aspiring CHWs is to “take the leap and you will find yourself with a career that is truly meaningful and rewarding.”

Savanah shared a touching story that exemplifies the impact CHWs can have. She worked tirelessly to help an elderly client experiencing homelessness secure temporary shelter and eventually find affordable housing. This allowed him to receive critical oxygen treatments and live out final years with dignity. As Savanah puts it, “CHWs can have a huge impact on the clients they help. We may not be able to move mountains, but we will bring shovels and stand by our clients until we get to the other side!”

Join us in celebrating Savanah and all the dedicated CHWs making a difference in our communities. #IAmACHW
