Many healthcare organizations are now required by CMS and Joint Commission to collect more comprehensive data on race, ethnicity, language, and social determinants of health (SDOH). This reflects a growing recognition of the importance of high-quality sociodemographic data for advancing health equity. However, effectively collecting this sensitive information remains a struggle for many. This workshop, part of the NH Equity Collective’s Building the Equity Toolbox series, will explore organizational factors that impact data collection. Participants will identify strategies to improve systems and meet new requirements.

Learning Objectives:

  • Examine barriers and facilitators to collecting sensitive personal data.
  • Discover ways to develop effective data collection systems.

Speakers:

Kristen Durzy, MPH brings expertise in community health, narrative storytelling, and advancing health equity.

Trinidad Tellez, MD has 20+ years experience addressing disparities and improving quality/access in healthcare.
